On this page, we will provide you with the answers to the most frequently asked questions while your visa application is being processed.

How do I know when my visa is ready?

Answer

After you have submitted your application, you can track your application on the VFS website or call their helpline on +9122-67866009 (India and Bhutan) or 18000910119 (Nepal).

If you have ordered courier service for your passport during submission, your passport will be dispatched to your address by the Visa Application Centre in New Delhi after the Embassy has processed your application.

What is the procedure to get my passport back?

Answer

Passports can be collected by the applicant from the visa application centre or it can be couriered. Please note that third party collection of documents or passports is not permitted, except in the following cases:

  • Immediate Family Member (i.e. Parents, Children, Spouse)
  • A person collecting on behalf of Government officials if authorized on the Government letter head.
  • Red Carpet representative if authorized on the Company’s letter head.

If any of the above comes for passport collection, they need to carry the following documents;

Photocopy of Govt. ID card, Original ICR and Authorization Letter from applicant.

Applicants who do not wish to collect their documents in person and whose documents cannot be collected by one of the above should select delivery mode as courier at the time of submission.

Applicants are requested to mention the complete delivery address on the covering letter. In case no specific address is mentioned on the covering letter, the passport will be sent to the address mentioned on the Visa Application Form.

This procedure is to ensure the safe and secure return of documents to applicants. 

My application was sent to the Danish Immigration Service. Why?

Answer

There may by various reasons for this. Each application is evaluated individually and based on the applicant’s profile, including purpose of visit and intention to return.

The Danish representations will decide to grant a visa, refuse a visa, or send the application to the Danish Immigration Service for further investigation (e.g. verification of Danish reference, family/friend relations, previous stays/overstays in the Schengen area, risk of illegal immigration, risk of working without a work permit and more).

Will my fees be refunded if my visa is refused?

Answer

All fees are non-refundable and will not be returned if your visa application is refused by the Embassy.
