Diplomatic and Service Passports
Indian citizens with Diplomatic or Service passport do not need a visa for entering Denmark, but may need a visa for other Schengen countries.

Validity of Passport
The applicant shall present a valid travel document (passport) the validity of which extends at least three (3) months after the intended date of departure from the territory of the Member States (or, in the case of several visits, after the last intended date of departure from the territory of the Member States). It shall contain at least two blank pages and shall have been issued within the previous 10 years.

  • Please note that as per information received from the Indian Authorities, handwritten and not machine readable passports are no longer issued and manual changes in Indian passports are no longer permitted since April 1st 2010. The Embassy thus do not accept:
    Handwritten or not machine readable Indian passports issued after 01/04/2010
  • Indian passports that contain a manual entry (observation) made after 01/04/2010 if the biographical data (biodata) of the passport holder were changed.

Processing time during peak travel periods

  • In peak travel periods, applications submitted at short notice will not, as a rule, be prioritised ahead of applications that have been submitted in time
  • Our peak season is from March through September. During this period we recommend that applications are submitted to VFS minimum 3 weeks in advance to ensure the application is processed in time.
