There is a difference between the number of days in my sticker and the total period of stay (from..until). How long can I stay in Schengen?
Answer
You are allowed to stay in Schengen for the number of days in the field 'DURATION OF STAY………DAYS'. The period 'FROM - UNTIL' is longer to allow flexibility regarding entry and exit within the mentioned period in case of emergency. So the total stay must never exceed the number of days in 'DURATION OF STAY………DAYS'. In other words, you cannot necessarily stay in the Schengen area for the entire period of validity.
You must exit the Schengen area before you run out of days or latest on the expiry date, whichever comes first.
What information should I check in the passport after receiving it back?
Answer
Each applicant should immediately verify the data represented on the issued visa: the first and last name, the photo, passport number, date of birth, the period of validity, the number of entries and days. In case you notice a mistake, you need to contact the Embassy of Denmark in New Delhi.
You can find the contact details here
Information for all applicants
You are responsible for ensuring that the information in the issued sticker is correct. When you receive your sticker, please verify it immediately.
If the sticker contains inaccurate details, inform the Danish Mission or the ESP immediately in order to have it corrected. The Danish Mission will correct the mistake and issue a new sticker without demanding an extra fee.
Applicants should check that all details on the sticker are correct (e.g. name, validity dates, passport number etc.).
In general, you are responsible for ensuring that you meet foreign entry requirements and that your travel documents, such as passports and visas (transit, business, tourist, and otherwise), are in order and any other foreign entry requirements are met.
The Danish Mission is not liable for expenses related to e.g. change of flight ticket, new flight ticket, hotel etc. due to inaccurate details in the issued sticker.
Who should I contact to find out why my visa was refused?
Answer
You will receive a letter from the Embassy in your return application that will mention the reasons for refusal.
When can I reapply if my visa was refused?
Answer
You are free to reapply at any time if your application has been refused. There is no time gap to be observed after a refusal to make a fresh application. However, it is recommended that you meet the reasons for the earlier refusal before submitting a new application. Submitting a new application will not necessarily lead to the visa being granted.
What if I want to appeal against the refusal?
Answer
Follow the instructions which are laid out in the refusal letter which is sent to you in case your visa has been refused.
Will my fees be refunded if my visa is refused?
Answer
All fees are non-refundable and will not be returned if your visa application is refused by the Embassy.
