About the Embassy

On 19th January, 2019 the former Danish Prime Minister, H.E. Lars Løkke Rasmussen formally inaugurated the new Royal Danish Chancery located in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.

India and Denmark have always had synergies in political, economic, academic and research fields. The new Embassy building marks Denmark’s strong commitment to continue to strengthen the bilateral relationship with the world’s largest democracy, India. The Embassy building will serve as a solid foundation for Denmark to further strengthen our existing trade, economic and cultural cooperation.

Traditionally, each country's Embassies carry expressions that draws on the country's history, culture, architecture and design. The Royal Danish Embassy has been designed by the Danish architect Vilhelm Lauritzen and its architecture is based on the vision of Danish design- elegant, minimalistic and functional.
