Historic day: Elevating the Indo-Danish relationship to the Green Strategic Partnership

Yesterday, H.E. Mette Frederiksen, Prime Minister of Denmark and Shri. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, co-chaired a Virtual Summit between India and Denmark. During the Summit, the two Prime Ministers agreed to establish a Green Strategic Partnership that will truly deepen and elevate the Indo- Danish relationship. The partnership will contribute to speeding up the economic recovery, accelerate green growth and create new jobs in the light of the global Covid-19 pandemic.

During the Summit, the two ministers discussed the needs and challenges of a green transition, shared their own experiences and highlighted that both countries have strong and ambitious climate goals. The ministers agreed to create an action plan that would further drive the Green Strategic Partnership forward. The summit marks the significant development in the bilateral relations between the two countries.

Both ministers also agreed to deepen the ongoing cooperation within areas like intellectual property rights, water management, energy, trade, innovation, and cultural exchanges.
