The Consulate General of Denmark is seeking to recruit a dynamic, positive and pro-active Innovation and Research Associate to be part of the Innovation Centre Denmark in India (ICDK).

The Innovation Centre Denmark helps establish collaborative projects between India and Denmark. We are the preferred internationalisation partner and a trusted advisor for Danish knowledge intensive companies, science and higher education institutions, and public organisations. We help Danish companies with innovative technologies internationalise, we build bridges between research and innovation environments, and work closely with academia.

We especially target the fields of CleanTech, smart cities, food systems, and health. Our partners are government institutions, research organisations, innovative companies and start-ups, as well as philanthropic organizations. 

As an Associate, you will be responsible for assisting in the creation of new partnerships and projects that to strengthen the research and innovation foundation for a Green Strategic Partnership between India and Denmark. You will aid in the commercialisation of Danish innovation to the Indian market.

You will work closely with the innovation advisors in the tech and CleanTech sector. 

We are looking for a person who is detail-oriented, flexible and good at driving forward many different projects and agendas as well as being a good team player within both the ICDK team and that of the larger Danish consulate and Embassy.

ICDK is headquartered in Bangalore, and has a team in the Danish Embassy in New Delhi. We have nine centres across the world, strategically located in innovation hubs.

The main tasks and responsibilities as Innovation and Research Associate include, but are not limited to:

Work closely with the Innovation advisors, Innovation attaché and be an integral part of the ICDK India team.
Assist the Innovation advisor in setting up meetings, prepare background briefs etc.
Analyse market information/trends and distil it to create well-designed presentations and comprehensive market research reports. This can be across sectors including CleanTech, emerging technologies and health.
Monitor India’s start-up ecosystem and be cognizant of new developments, technologies and interesting networks so as to provide inputs for background briefs, new projects and the strategic dialogue between the advisors and Indian and Danish counterparts.
Take part in ecosystem and industry events so as to grow the Danish consulate’s network
Exercise a key role in planning and execution of delegation visits to India and to Denmark, 
Prepare meetings with Government officials, companies, partner organisations and other stakeholders.
Assist in administration of ICDK running projects and activities.

Desired qualifications

Relevant bachelor’s degree, Masters preferred (incl. engineering, political science, economics, management, or international business)
Excellent writing and presentation skills and an ability to independently produce high-quality precise and tailor-made written material for a variety of audiences.
Good analytical skills
Up to two years of experience from a market research/management consulting role is an added advantage
Preferred experience (from previous jobs or academics) in stakeholder management and market research 
Ability to interact with officials and stakeholders across hierarchies in both private and public sector.
Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

Employment conditions

13th month salary and performance bonus according to the Schemes of the Ministry on individual and team targets. 
12% EPF equally contributed by the employee
Communication equipment incl. mobile device needed in order to carry out the role 
Medical coverage incl. insurance for self, spouse and children under 21 years of age; 80% of the medical expenditure is reimbursed by the Consulate. If spouse is working and has own insurance, the Consulate will not cover. 
Standard working hours of 37 hours per week, including paid lunch break of 30 min per day
You will be entitled to 25 days of paid leave per year
