IDBA Meeting in Mumbai

The Indo Danish Business Association’s (IDBA) 3rd quarter meeting was held in Mumbai on Friday, 9th September, 2016.  The meeting was hosted by ISS Facility Services India Private Limited in their office building at Andheri East near the airport. Mr. Purvin Patel, the Country Manager of ISS briefed the members about ISS’ activities in India and their future plans.
The main topic of the meeting was “Skill Development”.  Mr. Mahesh Venkateshwaran, Lead - Industry Partnerships & SIMO Project, National Skill Development Corporation informed the members present about Industry Partnership Models under Skill India, Sector Skill councils and financial incentives in skill development.  Continuing with this topic, Mr. Sune Kaur-Pedersen Counsellor, Innovation and Research / Deputy Head of Innovation Centre Denmark, share his thoughts on how Danish companies can develop staff competencies and benefit from collaborations with educational institutions.
Ambassador Peter Taksøe-Jensen presented an overview of the current political scenario in Denmark, the present status of the bilateral relations and various other updates from the Embassy including the new chancery building.

Ms. Bhavna Doshi , Senior Advisor, B S R & Associates LLP gave a very interesting presentation on GST – where it stands today and where it will go in times to come.  Besides the benefits of GST for the business community, she also elaborated on the various challenges that are envisaged when GST comes into place.  The session was a very interactive one and we were actually short of time.
The Commercial Counsellor and Head of Trade, Mr. Morten Ranieri-Svendsen, the moderator of the meeting, announced that the next IDBA meeting would be held in Bangalore on the 28th of November, 2016. The theme of this meeting will be “Water / Launch of the water subgroup”.
